Sony Xperia M2 and M2 Dual Spotted on Saholic as “Coming Soon”

Sony announced its new mid range smartphone Xperia M2 at this year’s MWC event in Barcelona. Back then Sony did not announced whether this device will reach the Indian Shores or not, but now the popular online handset retailer saholic has listed the handset as coming soon on their website which leads us into believing that sooner or later, Xperia M2 will be reaching the Indian shores.

Sony Xperia M2 is a very exciting device from Sony and going by its name it seems it is a successor of the already very successful device, the Sony Xperia M(read our review here). Like Xperia M, the Xperia M2 will also be releasing in Single Sim and Dual Sim variants.

Sony Xperia M2 will Sport a 4.8 inch qHD (540×960 pixels) display, powered by a 1.2GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 400 processor (MSM8926 for 4G LTE, MSM8226 for 3G)  with Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM. it will come with 8GB of internal storage which can be further expanded upto 32Gb with help of a microSD card. The smartphone comes with a 8MP Rear Camera with LED flash and features like HDR, image stabilizer, digital zoom, 1080p video recording, ‘auto scene’ recognition and much more. The smartphone features a front camera as well.

At the time of launch Sony claimed M2 will be priced under MSRP (manufacturer’s suggested retail price) of 220 EUR which converts to around 18611 INR , while a Dutch publication named GSM Info has claimed that the Xperia M2 will be hitting global markets in April with an MSRP of EUR 289, which converts to around 24448 INR.

The Sony Xperia M2 has a 2300mAh battery under its hood and the handset will be available in same colors as Xperia M that are Black, White and Purple color.

  1. Looks great. It seems that Sony is making their phones look better than before. But I still prefer the Z2. And based on recent surveys, Z2 still beats the Galaxy S5.
